To follow on last week’s post, I have some more announcements relating specifically to how I am moving away from video games and back into writing and publishing literature. The first part of this post is going to be about my “publishing roadmap,” what is going to happen when. The next portion will be some of the high-level ideas of what you can expect my next writing projects to potentially be. As in years past, I expect these to fluctuate as I explore various ideas and what tends to be working, not working, etc.
Okay, so, my first big announcement is that all of my current publications on Amazon will be taken down on Sunday, March 30, 2025. If you want any of the current editions, please purchase them before midnight on Saturday, March 29. At that point, the Amazon pages will remain, but the publications will be marked as out-of-print. At some point in the future (exact date TBD), I will be bringing everything back with some cool updates: new covers and new front- and back-matter. Much of that new material will be available on this blog prior to publication.
I’m aiming to get all of my books back in circulation by the end of 2026 at the latest. Right now, I’m just working through the various business logistics of shutting down video game operations and starting up publishing operations again. It’s interesting to me that I’ve found myself coming full circle to where I was in 2014, when I first started a publishing company, Fuzzy Hedgehog Press. Having to shut that business down was mildly traumatic. But, in 2025, I find myself feeling as though I’m going in with eyes wide open, and certainly more ready to deal with the various aspects of running a business.
With all that said, let’s get to the good stuff. What can you expect to see from me in this new era of my writing?
Additionally, I’ll be coming back to When the Gods Wish to Punish and deciding finally whether to publish that novel or shelve it for good. I think that with a little bit of creativity, I might just be able to squash all my concerns about it, at least the ones that prevented me from publishing it in the first place. I plan on doing that at the end of my novel refreshes, but before writing or publishing anything truly new. That novel is complete and even pretty well edited, I just ran into concerns about its structure late in 2021. It will be interesting to see how I receive it upon a re-read, hopefully this time next year or earlier.
