Earlier this week, I announced that I had joined the SFWA as an associate member. Doing so has unlocked a new goal for me: to achieve full membership. Here’s how my family and friends can help with that:

Purchase books. This is the simplest and most straightforward method. All of my royalties count toward reaching the threshold for full membership. Both physical editions and ebooks generate a significant chunk of royalties. Even if your physical space is limited, picking up copies of the ebooks is significantly helpful and would be much appreciated!
Write reviews on Amazon. Believe it or not, one positive review is orders of magnitude more powerful than a purchase. This is because of how Amazon’s algorithms treat reviews. The visibility and ranking boost from a positive review is much greater than a purchase. Although this method of helping doesn’t cost any money in and of itself, it does require you to have purchased the book in question first.
